ANDREI COSTACHE
Picture

b. 1983, Constanta, Romania

Currently living and working in London, Andrei Costache is an artist with a focus on
architecture and painting. Best known for his objects and installations that incorporate a variety of materials: from plaster casts, concrete shapes, and welded steel, to carved wood, resin and fibreglass forms, sawn fabric, printed designs and futuristic inflatables.

He has created quite an aura around his 2D and 3D designs, magically progressing out of this world, at once immersive and extrapolated with volume and colour. They look soft and puffy / sturdy and soulful - characterised by an examination of the human body in nature juxtaposed to an unusual built environment.

His art is like a jelly belly machine - incorporating warping with a Renoir aesthetic. A hyper real fantasy that changed the central themes of sculpture and painting over the last 10 years. Updating concepts and approaches first explored by minimalism and bubbletecture.

Costache is taking inspiration from Zaha Hadid to Anish Kapoor and expressing it in a modern personal way. His work is all about the influence of technology in our day to day life, albeit with an analog syntax.  Working like a robot in the studio until art transforms the future.

A generational telepathic stream-wave of interactiveness in other landscapes that respond to highly topical questions such as the need for protection of the individual and the relationship between humans and machines. He sees the world digitally, emphasising on placing the mind in an endlessly beautiful matrix.

Blending hi-tech and Gordian labour power, Costache connects the disparate interferences with a wildly original social media presence and the singularity of an artist working to save the 21st Century from its depravation of territory freedom. Going out in the cityscape splendour and coming back with marvellous ideas.
