After 11 years in the UK, of which 6 in London, Andrei Costache has returned to his hometown of Constanta, Romania in 2022. He is the only artist in the world to print high resolution digital art with sculpture on top - translating the digital line in 3D and linking the virtual with the physical.
He has created quite an aura around his sculpted digital paintings. The new series are magically progressing out of this world, at once immersive and extrapolated with voluminous wood. They look soft and puffy, when in fact, they are very sturdy and soulful.
His art is like a jelly belly machine - incorporating warping with a Renoir aesthetic. A hyper real fantasy where the electric jigsaw is his brush and the spray paint his palette. A crafted architectural woodwork combined with computerised glitched drawings.
Taking inspiration from classical paintings and expressing it in a modern personal way. His work is all about the childlike, ghosts, eroticism and morphosis. Working like a robot in the studio until the art transforms the future.
A generational telepathic stream-wave of portraits and landscapes at an uncanny party. He sees the world digitally. A live wire transcendence that marries design with photography, sculpture with painting, and dreams with sci-fi nightmares.
Blending hi-tech and Gordian labour power, Costache connects the disparate interferences with a wildly original social media presence and the singularity of an artist working to save the 21st Century from its depravation of liberty.
